It’s a glorification of bratty behavior, subversive activities, and pop culture ascension that can be undeniably entertaining, but rare is the cinematic exploration that uncovers the soulfulness of personal expression. “Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry” is a portrait of a man who’s created quite a name for himself in the art world, currently in a position where he doesn’t even have to physically create his own work for show, leaving the craftsmanship to his staff.
